Mr & Mrs Smith
SIX months after the controversial ball-tampering scandal that cost him his captaincy and place in the team, Australian Test cricketer Steve Smith and his long-time partner Dani Willis have tied the knot.
Smith and his bride exchanged vows in Berrima in the NSW Southern Highlands, under a pastel-pink floral arch yesterday.
It was a sports star-studded event, with guests including teammates Aaron Finch, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Mitch Marsh, Pat Cummins and Moses Henriques.
An unseasonably warm spring day and clear blue sky made the perfect backdrop for the nuptials, which were a year in the making.
A big hint the wedding was about to take place was the fact Willis, a law student, held two hen’s parties in recent months – one in Las Vegas and another in Sydney. Her second hen’s night took place at Sydney’s Chin Chin last month, alongside girlfriends including Lyon’s ex-partner Mel Waring.
Willis and Smith have laid relatively low since the career-threatening scandal erupted while the Test team was on tour in South Africa in March.
