Q& A Talkin’ with Josh Thomas ’ Bout Your Generation

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - Television -

Josh Thomas is considered one of Australia’s brightest young talents. He is renowned for his stand-up comedy work, appearances on various panel shows and his verbal sparring with Shaun Micallef on

Talkin’ ’ Bout Your Generation. Q. What is the biggest misconception of Generation Y? A. That we’re crappy. There are a lot of articles about how crappy we are, but I think we’re OK. I think those articles are written and read by old people because they’re jealous we’re still filled with hope and smiles. Q. Finish this sentence. Shaun Micallef is . . . A. A fat idiot loser douche! Not really. I think he is nice and very funny, but that isn’t entertaining now, is it?

Q. What is the TBYG quiz or stunt you least look forward to and why?

A. Clearly it’s ‘‘ trust me’’. Last time I got dropped into sour cream. I’m an artist! Q. You have been voted one of the 25 most influential gay Australians. What do you hope your influence is? A. I hope my influence is minimal, I really do. The last thing we need is more of me. Q. Finish this sentence: Ruby Rose is . . . A. Ugh. It’s pretty welldocumented how I feel about her. I’m mostly confused about how everyone knows who she is. Like, what does she do? But I’m aware that me asking that might result in people asking what I actually do . . . and I’d be lost. Q. Are you still a Twitter addict?

A. I started RTing insults on Twitter and then people started insulting me to get a RT, which I get is funny, but also it’s hard because my feelings can’t tell what insults are just because the person wants attention and what insults are because I’m horrible. So I’ve slowly backed away from it.
