Focus shifts to mums

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - Television - ROSIE SQUIRES

AUSTRALIA’S most celebrated baby photographer, Anne Geddes, hosts this emotional six-part documentary series on pregnancy.

After years of photographing naked babies perched on pumpkins and cupped in cabbages, the 55-year-old Sydney-based photographer has now pointed her lens at mothers.

The series delves into the lives of nine women.

‘‘ The message is if you’re pregnant and you live in a palace, or if you’re pregnant and you live in a refugee camp in Sudan . . . the process is the same and you’re still concerned about the same things within your body,’’ Geddes said.

She said getting her subjects to pose was far easier this time round, as they could follow instruction.

Tonight we meet 27-year-old triplets, who all fell pregnant at the same time before two of them had their babies on the same day.

Their story is as beautiful as the photographs Geddes produces. My Pregnancy, 7TWO, Saturday, 4.25pm
