Cracker of a Christmas feast
WATCHING Rick’s attempts at skating around the famous Eden ice rink in Cornwall, well, you can’t help thinking that he’s lucky he can cook. And boy can Rick Stein cook. The patriarch of British cooking now calls Sydney home, but in tomorrow night’s festive special we’re treated to a delectable white Christmas in his native country.
The show kicks off with a warm spiced punch called a ‘‘ smoking bishop’’ served by an open fire that is sure to make even the staunchest beach bum jealous.
But with his trademark ability to turn seafood into gold, Stein will leave you licking your lips in anticipation of prawns and oysters on Christmas Day.
Oh and there’s a pear souffle this reviewer would die for.
