While Samuel L. Jackson’s CV isn’t free of dud movies, what he’s doing running around in this sort of thing is beyond me. OK, it might have been fun making it but watching it is mostly a chore. An unoriginal beat-’ em- up, it involves a US firefighter being kidnapped and forced to scrap for his life in a series of fights broadcasted over the net for profit by a maniacal businessman ( guess who that is). All the obvious bloodsport genre trappings are here, but it’s all been done better before.
