Rudd lovable loser

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - Eguide Dvds -

ANY film with American comedy actor Paul Rudd in it is going to charm you in some way – his onscreen presence and involvement just dictates it.

And teamed with an appealing female supporting cast and a likable scenario, well that’s just gravy.

Rudd stars as the free- spirited, semilovable loser in a family of sisters who is all about the love and believes in the goodness of humanity and doing the right thing – you know, a hippie.

But after getting out of jail for a minor drug incident, he’s dumped by his longterm girlfriend and left homeless.

He ends up being bounced from sister to sister – all of whom are battling through their own issues. His honest ways and kind- heartedness backfire, causing friction in their personal lives.

While the thin script doesn’t use the cast fully, what they do get they make work well and the film’s breezy nature and Rudd’s laid- back charms ensure plenty of smiles.
