LARRY Em­dur has rein­vented him­self.

THE 47- year- old is a rat­ings force on Chan­nel 7’ s The Morn­ing Show and so pop­u­lar that Chan­nel 9 re­port­edly tried to poach him last year to host To­day.

Be­fore The Morn­ing Show, Em­dur was the game- show king – host of The Price is Right ( 1993- 98 and 2003- 05) be­fore a stint on Wheel of For­tune ( 2006).

When Wheel folded, Em­dur rolled out a se­ries of clangers in­clud­ing Celebrity Dog School and Sur­prise Wed­ding.

Now Em­dur is re­turn­ing to his quiz- show ori­gins. He is host­ing a re­booted ver­sion of The Price is Right, which will be paired with Deal or No Deal. Q: What are your mem­o­ries of the orig­i­nal ver­sion of The Price is Right? A: Ev­ery­thing great that has hap­pened in my life hap­pened while I was work­ing on that show – mar­riage ( to wife Sylvie) and the kids ( Jye and Tia) be­ing born. Price A: When I fin­ished Price the sec­ond time I went into a bit of a spin and said ‘‘ yes’’ to ev­ery­thing. I ended up on ev­ery com­mer­cial net­work and did a lot of rub­bishy things. Af­ter my third or fourth ax­ing in a row I thought, ‘‘ I need to chuck this in’’. Q: Was it a gam­ble host­ing The Morn­ing Show? A: The Morn­ing Show rep­re­sented a fork in the road for me. I didn’t know if I could do it or if the Aus­tralian public would be­lieve me in that role. I am hum­bled by the way it has un­folded. Q: Any trep­i­da­tion about host­ing a game show again?
