Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - E Guide Television - DEBBIE SCHIPP BOLLYWOOD STAR, SBS One, Saturday, 7.30pm

IT SEEMS Tania Zaetta isn’t enough. This hunt for a Bollywood star is an entertaining mix of reality talent show and observational documentary.

Hundreds of hopefuls head to auditions for the ultimate prize of a Bollywood movie.

Six will head to Mumbai for training with Bollywood coaches and a taste of everyday Indian life as they try to crack it in a movie industry that’s twice the size of Hollywood.

Cue an assortment of talented, driven professionals and not- so- talented eccentrics as the judges choose 24 hopefuls.

They need to be able to act, Bollywood dance, and know a bit about the business.

Plenty fall at the first hurdle – drawing the ire of lead judge, filmmaker Anupam Sharma, when they can’t name a Bollywood film or actor. And then a banana farmer from Woolgoolga walks in.
