Walk on the wild side

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - DVDS -

Stars: Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Danny DeVito, Ed Helms

Director: Chris Renaud, Kyle Balda

Available: Now on DVD and BD IT REALLY is the perfect time for a film like The Lorax. Based on one of Dr Seuss’s short stories, the creatively rich tale is perfect fodder for some slick computer animation and the strong environmental message that runs through the story. It tells the tale of the residents of plastic city Thneedville, in particular young man Ted ( Zac Efron), who wants to win the heart of a young girl who would like nothing more than to feel a real tree. His quest takes him outside his fake city walls to meet a strange man known as the Once- ler ( Ed Helms). It’s here he learns the truth behind what happened to all the trees and how the strange guardian of nature known as the Lorax ( Danny DeVito) may hold the key to their rejuvenation. As with all Seuss- ian stories, the characters are incredibly unique and infectiously peppy and it’s geared for younger audiences to wow at. Extras: Not viewed. Deleted scene, a couple of Doc Seuss featurettes and an interactive feature.
