Franchise filla for Milla

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - MOVIES - LEIGH PAATSCH

UNTIL Milla Jovovich goes and grows a pot belly, there will be Resident Evils on a regular basis.

And so Jovovich slips into a skin- tight rubber unitard, slaps on a grimace and slinks menacingly through another 90 minutes of ultra- violent 3D sludge.

If anyone out there is still counting, we have now hit episode five in this based- on- a- video game saga.

Jovovich’s Alice ( imagine Jason Bourne as a futuristic female recruited from a modelling agency) is still at war with Umbrella Corp.

As always, Umbrella is all about spreading that zombie- cannibal virus thing, but their recent diversification into cloning is also doing quite well.

So well, in fact, that a number of actors who died in earlier ResEvil’s ( hello Michelle Rodriguez!) are free to stop by and pick up another pay cheque.

Alice’s former best friend Jill ( Sienna Guillory) now hates her to bits and wants to kill her. But that is probably only because of this gizmo Umbrella has stuck on her chest.

There’s also a little girl in the mix this time round, but that is probably only because Kate Beckinsale and the Underworld franchise already have one.

Now showing Village Cinemas
