GROVE, $ US49.95; grove

Where do old skateboards go? In this case, they are recycled to make unique Apple iPhone covers. The SkateBack cover attaches to the back of an iPhone 4 or 4S but it’s the cover’s ecological credentials and appearance that really appeal. The slender strips of colour give it the look of a wooden rainbow.

Panasonic, $ 799; lumix.pana

Panasonic’s latest big zooming machine packs in more than users might expect, including an electronic viewfinder. The Lumix FZ200 will most likely be sought out for that 24x optical zoom ( 25- 600mm), but users will appreciate its f2.8 aperture, 1.3K viewfinder, full HD video and 12 frames a second shooting.

Denon, $ 549; denona

These headphones weren’t named Globe Cruiser by accident: they’re designed for frequent and demanding travellers. They feature noise cancellation technology, powered by a rechargeable battery, as well as Bluetooth v3.0 for wireless connection with a smartphone. A wheel can control music playback.

LatestBuy, $ 29.95; latest

It is perhaps the tiniest arcade game you’ll ever see, but this unique Apple iPhone accessory could provide hours of retro fun. The Arcadie for iPhone opens up to fit an iPhone in the back, while an eight- way joystick and two fire buttons feature up front to control free apps including Blasteroids, Ping and Invaders.

Huawei, $ 299; dick

Smartphones are getting smarter and this Huawei offering shows they’re getting cheaper. The $ 299 Honor phone comes with an 8- megapixel camera, 1.4GHz processor, a 4- inch screen and a body that is just 10.9mm thick. Huawei has also added a substantial battery that promises to deliver up to nine hours of talk time.
