KEVIN MCCLOUD’S MAN MADE HOUSE

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - TV -

A grand design it isn’t. In fact, it’s more of a shed. But Kevin McCloud’s d’s plan to make a cabin by hand from his stand of trees, or source it from someone else’s rubbish is a grand idea. McCloud ( right) has found himself a piece of woodland, and plans to re- use, recycle, and hand- make materials for his shed- style retreat. Warning: don’t watch this one over dinner. Tonight, he starts work on his project by venturing, literally, into the bowels of London - looking for a way to make biodiesel from waste in the city’s sewer, as electricity and gas aren’t an option. More palatable is his use of two oak trees on the property to start on the building. However, his trial of using gunpowder to spilt the logs is jolting, to say the least.
