NASA’S Apollo 10 mission in May 1969 was a dry run for the Apollo 11 moon landing just two months later. The recently released flight crew communications transcript is fascinating – and there’s some hilarity to be had as you read about how the astronauts dealt with a toilet accident that gave new meaning to the expression “floater”. The crew included two of the three men who have been to the moon twice – John Young, right, and Gene Cernan, left – as well as Thomas Stafford and reading the words of these cowboys of the Apollo era provides a rare insight into those early days of space exploration. http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/history/ mission_ trans/ AS10_ CM.
