SPAIN’S FLAVOUR TO SAVOUR
NOMA’S three- year reign as the world’s best restaurant has come to an end with the title now going to El Celler de Can Roca, pictured, in Girona, Spain, according to San Pellegrino’s 2013 list of the world’s top 50. Spanish establishments once again dominated the top 10 with three inclusions, while Copenhagen, Modena ( Italy), New York, London, Sao Paulo ( Brazil), Vienna and Bergisch Gladbach in Germany each boasted one, France being notably absent. Two Australian restaurants made the top 50 – Melbourne’s Attica at a very commendable No. 21, and Sydney’s Quay at No. 48.
