MOVIE: A DANGER­OUS METHOD RE­VENGE

A Danger­ous Method touches on some big themes and it would, wouldn’t it? That is, con­sid­er­ing it is ba­si­cally the story of the birth of psy­cho­anal­y­sis and the rise to promi­nence of two blokes named Sig­mund Freud ( played by Viggo Mortensen) and Carl Jung ( Michael Fass­ben­der). The girl in the mid­dle is Sabina Spiel­rein ( Kiera Knight­ley) their pa­tient and ul­ti­mately their col­league, but is other things in be­tween. Un­der di­rec­tor David Cro­nen­berg, us­ing the script Christopher Hamp­ton adapted from his play The Talk­ing Cure, the trio of leads is ex­cep­tional, de­spite Knight­ley’s dif­fi­culty with her ac­cent. Main­tain­ing its stan­dard fre­netic pace, tonight’s Re­venge evenge in­stal­ment fea­tures an en­gage­ment, a death and an n ar­rest. Emily ( Emily VanCamp, right) and Daniel ( Joshua Bow­man) drop an­other bomb­shell on the fam­ily, fur­ther rat­tling ng the Grayson house­hold. Mean­while Jack ( Nick Wech­sler) er) and Ash­ley ( Ash­ley Madekwe) are work­ing to­gether r to en­gi­neer Con­rad Grayson’s ( Henry Cz­erny) demise. e.
