Pale straw/ green with the typical Marlborough pungency of spiky nettles and tropical fruits, but in need of a bit more acid lift and vitality to be truly refreshing.

MUD HOUSE

Marlborough, NZ 13 per cent www.mudhouse.com.nz

A more restrained and complex drop than its Marlborough partner with the variety’s tropical fruitiness combining with herbaceous and juicy citrus notes.

FORESTER ESTATE

2012 SAUVIGNON BLANC, $ 25

Margaret River, WA 13.5 per cent www.foresterestate.com. au

A more subtle, lightly oak style with distinct fl oral, pot- pourri- like aromas. It’s a little too delicate for while initially appealing, the fl avours fade fairly quickly towards the fi nish.
