+ SPICE UP the chorizo, pump­kin and black bean soup with a pinch of dried pa­prika. You could also use crispy ba­con in­stead of chorizo if you pre­fer. + AGAVE SYRUP is a nat­u­ral sweet­ener from the agave plant ( from which tequila is also made). It has a honey- like con­sis­tency and is avail­able from the health- food aisle of most supermarkets. You could use a dash of maple syrup as a sub­sti­tute. + FOR A VEG­E­TAR­IAN ver­sion of the Thai- style soup, you could use tofu in­stead of chicken, and also add sugar snap or snow peas for crunch.
