2013 PINOT GRIS, $ 28
Tamar Valley, Tas
13.5 per cent A bright, youthful, pale straw colour, the nose clean and fairly subtle at this stage followed by a more expressive palate showing fruity, almost Gewürztraminerlike spice on top of some savoury, phenolic characters fi nishing with a long, savoury- dry aftertaste. A good food wine. MUD HOUSE 2012 PINOT GRIS, $ 22
South Island, NZ
13.5 per cent Distinct lemon balm and musk aromas with musk coming more to the fore in the mouth, the palate balanced and smoothly textured but becoming all a bit too musk lolly- ish for me. Some might love it.
