KALLESKE 2013 ROSINA ROSE $ 19

Barossa Valley, SA

13.5 per cent

HOT purple- pink colour with red berry and glace cherry aromas and palate, the fruit sweetness combining with a kick of alcohol to provide a fairly abrupt fi nish suggestive of liqueured fruit cake.

DOMAINE CHANDON

2013 PINOT NOIR ROSE $ 20

Yarra Valley, Vic

12.5 per cent

PALE salmon pink, strawberries, raspberries and even a whiff of spring fl owers on the nose, the palate light, soft and fruity with a just- off- dry fi nish that, with a good chill, would make for an appealing summer picnic drop. SANDALFORD 2013 ROSE $ 20

Margaret River, WA

13.0 per cent

VIVID pink with maraschino nose and confectionary musk fl avours on a heavy, sugary, syrupy palate that, even with a really good chill to lift the wine’s acid and freshness, I can’t imagine being a pleasing partner to food or a refreshing summer quaffer. HOME HILL 2013 ROSE $ 23

Huon Valley, Tas

13.5 per cent

A PALISH rusty pink colour with a bright fl oral/ spice nose, the palate more raspberries and cherries with some citrusy high notes and touches of tannin, the fruitiness nicely balanced by drier, more savoury fi nishing notes making for a pleasant food- friendly, summer drop.
