THE FOX AND THE CHILD

FAMILY ( foxtel), 8.15pm

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - TV -

A BEGUILING blend of old- fashioned nature documentary and modern fairytale from the makers of March of the Penguins. The entire plot stretches about as far as the title of the movie itself. In the mountainous Rhone- Alps region of France, there lives a fox. An inquisitive 10- year- old girl ( Bertille Noadiël- Bruneau) makes it her mission to befriend the wild animal. Surprisingly contemplative and deep for an exercise in allages entertainment. Kate Winslet steps up to the microphone and narrates superbly. Her enthusiasm for the unusual tale told here is unmistakable. At times, it as if Winslet is reading a bedtime story.
