TIME TO THINK OF YOUR CUSTOMERS
I WAS at a well- known country cafe last week. “Are you after lunch or afternoon tea?” asked the woman I presumed to be the owner- manager. “Lunch, please,” I replied, only to be told lunch was “finished”. “What time do you finish?” I asked, looking at my watch, which showed just a few minutes past 2pm. “Right now!” she said – no “we could do you a nice salad” or anything like that, just a very emphatic “right now”. You do wonder what tourists must think.
