This week’s offering looks back at one of the biggest man- made disasters in history, the Bhopal gas tragedy. In the early evening of December 3, 1984, the bustling Indian city of Bhopal was thrown into chaos after a gas leak exposed more than 500,000 people to toxic substances used to make pesticides. The chemicals caused severe damage to the respiratory system, resulting in suffocation by drowning. It killed more than 3000 people and injured more than 500,000.
