AUTUMN always brings great crops of mushrooms and toadstools. Many are highly toxic. The whitespotted, crimson- domed Fly Agaric mushroom is now appearing in most parts of Tasmania, often beneath silver birch trees. The attractive but sinister colours should be a warning, as this species of cap fungi is highly poisonous, especially to young children.
