Brighten up with this beauty

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - HOME - Jarrad Bevan

TO fi nd a house that goes above and beyond, way outside the norm, look no further than a builder’s home. John and Natalie Brooks, owners of Tiifreno Builders, have let their dreams run wild while designing an expansive home in Hobart’s northern suburbs.

When they bought the property fi ve years ago it had just a modest 1930s homestead on a huge 2683sq m block – an image quite hard to imagine while visiting the sprawling house that the Brooks have since built.

Homes are often labelled an “entertainer’s delight” but this property delivers more than usual with the sort of outdoor entertaining area, built around a large heated pool, that you would imagine fi nding at a high- end resort.

There is also a fully soundproof home cinema, a jacuzzi, multiple bar areas, large living rooms plus a gigantic kitchen with an amazing roof feature that tricks the eye and makes the big space feel even larger still.

The family room is refi ned and contemporary with the television and gas heater built into walls. There is oodles of space for a large family to spread out.

No expense has been spared with the plush his- and- hers walk- in wardrobes – hers with a chandelier and built- in racks for high heels – plus one of the biggest, most stylishly fi tted out ensuites you are ever likely to come across.

The couple has four children and Natalie said the home was designed to meet the needs of their growing family.

“When we were initially talking about what we wanted from the home, there were a few things that were a must.

“I always wanted a massive lounge room, a big open space for the kids,” she said.

“That was important because our previous home in Glenorchy was tiny.

“I love my bar, it is perfect for entertaining. John would probably say his shed is his favourite part of the house.”

This grand, six- bedroom, prestigious 442sq m house is enhanced by hi- tech fi ttings and security surveillance.

The covered alfresco living spaces mean indoor or outdoor living can be achieved at any time of the year, in any weather. Plus the house has ducted heating throughout keeping it at a constant, comfortable temperature.

This house is on the market and its sale is being handled by Alanna Hawkes, of Petrusma Property.
