What could be bet­ter than a painfully awk­ward and bru­tally hon­est Chi­nese dat­ing show? One man, 24 sin­gle women of vary­ing ages and back­grounds and a sin­gle shot at find­ing love. If there’s a match once the bloke has in­tro­duced him­self via sev­eral videos about his work, per­sonal and fam­ily lives, the lucky cou­ple win a hol­i­day and a se­lec­tion of home ap­pli­ances. It’s an in­trigu­ing and of­ten hi­lar­i­ous look in­side the so­cial work­ings of China’s rapidly chang­ing so­ci­ety.

A lo­cal farmer is dead and an early con­fes­sion seems to have ve the case all sewn up for In­spec­tor Sul­li­van, but there’s more e to the story than meets the eye. Fa­ther Brown ( Mark Wil­liams, , pic­tured) dis­cov­ers the real rea­son the town medico Dr Craw­ford wants to plead guilty, and he’s de­ter­mined for the e truth to come out. This episode is Fa­ther Brown at its best.
