DOCO, 9.30PM, ABC2 Comedian Joel Creasey has twice suff ered homophobic threats while performing in the Victorian regional town of Colac. Now he’s returning with his fellow comic Rhys Nicholson to put on a show and spend a week in the town to see if attitudes have changed. Things don’t begin promisingly. “Nice hair- do, homo,” one hoon yells from a passing car and when the boys scout out a pub hall for a venue one of the drinkers suggests they’re there for “bum camp”. What? But a tour of a local timber mill followed by lunch with the workers, and a visit to a nearby dairy farm is heartening, and mayor Lyn Russell agrees to MC their show and gives them a warm introduction. “We came here believing you shouldn’t judge people, but I think we were both being pretty judgey on the way here,” Rhys concedes.
