DOCO, 9.30PM, DISCOVERY Wyatt Earp, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Wild Bill Hickock, John Wesley Hardin and Tom Horn are the stuff of legend. So much has been written about these six wild west icons that it’s hard to separate fact from fi ction. The six- part dramatised documentary series Gunslingers aims to rectify that situation by presenting little- known facts about their lives and giving more insight into the turmoil of the 19th century American frontier. Tonight’s fi rst episode centres on Earp, played by J. R. Ferguson, and narrated by Kurt Russell, who played the celebrated lawman in Tombstone. Gunslingers is often brutal and bloody but never less than fascinating. It strips the varnish off the myths.
