12 YEARS a Slave pro­ducer John Ri­d­ley is work­ing on a top- se­cret new Marvel TV se­ries for US free- to- air net­work ABC. Adri­anne Pal­icki and Nick Blood are tipped to star in the Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D. spinoff . IF you haven’t seen Top Of The Lake yet, the BBC minis­eries will screen on the ABC next Sun­day at 9.30pm. A new sea­son is in the pipes.

FOX­TEL is screen­ing the third sea­son of Or­ange Is The New Black in full on June 12 from 2pm. It’ll be on Netfl ix at the same time. SINGER- song­writer Her­izen Guardi­ola will make her act­ing de­but as the fe­male lead in Baz Luhrmann’s Netfl ix drama The Get Down, about teens com­ing of age in 1970s New York.

NET­FLIX is also pro­duc­ing a fol­low- up to the BBC’s ground­break­ing Planet Earth se­ries which will take four years to make. HOR­ROR fi lm mae­stro Wes Craven is set to bring his 1991 film The Peo­ple Un­der The Stairs to TV, adapt­ing it for the Syfy chan­nel. He’s also work­ing on a se­ries based on hit novel We Are All Com­pletely Fine. CHRISTO­PHER Ec­cle­ston has re­vealed he left Doc­tor Who af­ter just one sea­son be­cause he clashed with pro­duc­ers over its di­rec­tion.

DO­MINIC Cooper ( be­low) will star as Jesse Custer in the adap­ta­tion of DC Comics’ Preacher. Seth Ro­gen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin are writ­ing it.
