ENJOY season three of Hannibal on Australian screens while it lasts – it’s the last you will see of it. The show, starring Gillian Anderson, Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy and Laurence Fishburne, will wrap on US screens in September. Last year, seasons three and four were merged into a single season, and NBC recently pulled the plug on further instalments amid modest ratings. It is currently playing out here on Foxtel.
CORDELL Jigsaw Zapruder and Channel Nine are developing a miniseries on the life of the late Alan Bond, who died last month, aged 77. Bond was a former proprietor of Nine, famously buying the network from Kerry Packer in 1987 for $ 1 billion. Packer won the network back for a fraction of that when Bond later went bankrupt. Bond was simultaneously known as the man who bankrolled Australia’s winning of the Americas Cup and the biggest fraudster in Australia’s history.
FANS still gobsmacked by the recent fi nale of Wentworth season three, take heart. Season four will start fi lming in August – although the estimated 10- month wait for its 2016 airing on Foxtel seems like a sentence in itself. The explosive – literally – season three ending left fans desperate to see what the future holds for Joan “The Freak” Ferguson ( Pamela Rabe) Bea ( Danielle Cormack, right) and Franky ( Nicole da Silva).
