MAKING A HOUSE INTO A HOME

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - NEWS -

WHAT makes Australia’s ‘best’ home? That’s the question posed by Foxtel’s new series I Own Australia’s Best Home. Australian architect Nick Tobias (far left) and his co-hosts, interior designers Gillian Khaw and Tim Leveson, traverse the country in search of our most impressive place to live.

But while they show some drool-worthy abodes (each presenter visits, chats to the owners and stays overnight for the full experience), as Tobias explains, just because a place is big and grand doesn’t necessarily make it Australia’s ‘best’.

“Sometimes you can have the world’s best architect, the most amazing site and all the money in the world … but it doesn’t necessarily mean it will feel like a ‘home’,” Tobias says. “That’s the aspect of [this series] I find really interesting.”
