Japanese water irises

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - GARDENING -

By far the best and most spectacular of all bog plants are Japanese water irises (Iris ensata). These flowering delights actually thrive even in wet, saturated clay and produce huge, flat, blue or purple blooms, half the size of dinner plates. Most can be planted out from pots at any time of the year and need an occasional heavy watering during summer.
