Cheffies Cafe Bakery RAINBOW UNICORN, $12.95

Cheffies calls its range of shakes OTT (Over The Top) Shakes, and that’s a very apt description. The colourful Rainbow Unicorn has three flavours — strawberry, lime and banana — and comes with a range of tasty extras, including ice cream, cream, sour worms, sour straps, a sherbet cone, and sprinkles.

Sault’s ever-popular Cheesecake Shake is so choc-ful of flavours and textures that it can be either eaten or drunk. Fresh, house-made vanilla syrup, raspberry coulis, and cheesecake are combined with ice cream and milk to create an Instagram-worthy ripper of a shake.

The Yard — Brunswick Hotel CHOCOLATE SHAKE, $9

The Yard started selling its impressive shakes two years ago, and they have become some of the most popular in town. The chocolate shake comes with half a litre of milk ice cream, house-made mud cake, marshmallows, whipped cream, and berry coulis, and is a particular hit with visitors. Alcoholic versions are also available. 67 Liverpool St, Hobart

A very full and thick shake with a true “wow’’ factor, Chikko’s Nutella Oreo Shake is a hit with families. With an incredible blend of Tasmanian Valhalla ice cream, Nutella, Oreos and chocolate sauce, it is a true crowd-pleaser.
