Australia may play a starring role in the nuptials of one of the most famous soap opera couples, writes HOLLY BYRNES
WHEN you’ve worked on The Bold and the Beautiful for 30 years, forgetting how many times your character has been married is accepted as something of an occupational hazard.
For Katherine Kelly Lang, who has played serial bride, Brooke Logan Forrester for all of that time, it’s also a matter of much mirth.
“I’m guessing about 10-ish,” she says, “and most of those to [long-time love interest] Ridge. To be honest, I don’t want to know,” she adds, laughing.
Asked to nominate her favourite spouse can also be both political and hysterical.
“That’s hard. I loved them all, of course,” she says with a wink. “I loved the first Ridge [played by Ronn Moss] and I loved the second Ridge [Thorsten Kaye].”
While she’s rejoiced at being part of one of daytime TV’s most iconic couples, Lang, perhaps controversially, thinks “the more recent storyline with Bill [Spencer, played by Don Diamont] and how romantic they are together and bring different things out in each other ... that’s been good for Brooke. It’s more of a positive relationship for her.”
Devoted fans, who have been invested in the love lives and professional calamities of the Forrester family of fashion designers for three decades, will know how such a declaration of love will play with those still cheering for Brooke and Ridge to tie the knot once again.
