LAST week’s item was an achap­pam, very sim­i­lar to a rosette iron. We would hap­pily ac­cept ei­ther as cor­rect. The cook would mix to­gether a bat­ter and then dip the achap­pam into it, fol­lowed by dip­ping it into hot oil. The re­sult would be a de­li­cious, crispy snack.

Jacob Ge­orge and Maria Gomez were the first read­ers to email with the cor­rect an­swer — al­most at the same time.

A lot of read­ers were on the right track with their an­swer but Mr Ge­orge nailed it with the ex­act name that the owner of the piece gave us.
