Rose cuttings

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - GARDENING -

Autumn is an ideal time to take rose cuttings, always of young, semi-ripe shoots about two-thirds the length of a pencil. Take several and after smearing bases with a little honey, insert into a 50-50 mixture of river sand and potting soil. Keep out of the sun and the soil moist and many will have formed roots by late spring. Transplant the following winter.
