This week’s What Is It? mys­tery item comes from the good folks at Wil­low Court An­tique Centre in New Norfolk.

This de­vice dates back to the early 1800s and con­sists of two ushaped metal hooks with a se­ries of drilled holes in each.

It would have held two com­po­nents of a much larger item to­gether.

The item helps a much larger con­trap­tion get around.

And the con­trap­tion, de­spite be­ing pro­lific in the 1800s, is more pop­u­lar than ever to­day for sport and recre­ation pur­poses.
