What is it? This week’s item is bound to create a hole lot of intrigue

Sure to create a hole lot of intrigue

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - NEWS -

This obscure object was among the goods and wares at Willow Court Antique Centre in New Norfolk.

The item is made up of two main parts. It is narrowest where the two parts meet, and each part widens towards the ends like two cones cut in half and stuck together at the narrow end. One part is wire mesh, like that in a strainer.

The mesh has larger holes around it like it has been clipped with a hole punch. The other part is solid metal.

Not even the people at the antique shop knew what this might be. We are not sure what it does, where it is from or which way is up, but if you know what it might be, send an email to tassieliving@news.com.au The fastest readers to send in the correct answer will have their names published beneath next week’s What Is It?
