Cafe Lola

Lola’s menu con­sists of whole, clean, good food and is in­spired by pa­leo and gluten-free eat­ing. The sal­ads vary day to day but there is gen­er­ally one com­po­nent that ties each one to­gether. For the Roasted Cau­li­flower and Leek Salad, for in­stance it’s Westhaven Goat Chevre. The dish also in­cludes house-made dukkah, fresh herbs and red pep­pers. Honey Brown Cafe

Honey Brown is a hot spot for healthy veg­e­tar­ian meals, which nat­u­rally makes it a prime place for su­perb sum­mer sal­ads. One of the most pop­u­lar is the lentil and car­rot salad, which con­tains roast car­rot, Dan­ish feta, lentils, mint, rocket and is topped with a lime and cumin dress­ing. One88 on Collins

The sal­ads at One88 change daily and use fresh, lo­cal pro­duce. One that’s a huge cus­tomer favourite is the Spiced Cau­li­flower with Fried Chick­peas. It con­tains half a cooked cau­li­flower, deep fried chick­peas, crispy spinach and cur­rents. A spice mix in­clud­ing nigella seeds, turmeric, cayan pep­per, pa­prika and sesame seeds is then tossed on top. Grab a small salad for $6.50 or a large for $9. 188 Collins St, Ho­bart

Mon­soon Thai Fu­sion

For some­thing unique, try Mon­soon Thai Fu­sion’s Rocky Road Chicken Salad. It’s packed with flavour and is served as a main ($20 take­away or $24 dine-in). The dish in­cludes crispy fried chicken, sliced onion, car­rot, broc­coli and a mix of herbs in­clud­ing co­rian­der, Viet­namese mint and pars­ley and Mon­soon’s own se­cret sauce. 46A Ham­p­den Rd, Bat­tery Point

Phat Fish

One of Sala­manca’s new­est eater­ies — Phat Fish cur­rently fea­tures three sum­mer sal­ads on its menu. All sal­ads are gluten-free and only $11.50 each. The op­tions in­clude Warm Chick­pea and Rocket, Smoked Sal­mon Salad and Warm As­para­gus. The Warm As­para­gus salad in­cludes lightly charred as­para­gus, wal­nuts and parme­san cheese on a bed of rocket with lemon. 61 Sala­manca Pl, Bat­tery Point
