This one’s definitely made to measure

The friendly fellows at Archive Antiques in New Town showed us this curious curved creation.

The device was made in Switzerland, sold in Manchester, in the UK, and features a curved metal ruler mounted on a green painted stand.

There are two metal needles joined at one end and set perpendicular to each other, which appear to be attached to a hinge and able to move along the ruler.

The inclusion of the marked and numbered ruler part is a telltale sign the device is for measuring.

Be it length or weight or whatever else, is up to you to work out.
