What is it:
This one’s well worth having a stab at
This decorative cast-iron object is from Archive Antiques in New Town. The four-footed Victorian era stand has something in common with last week’s item. The pin cushion and thread in the flower shaped section at the top of the stand is a significant clue to the activity the item was used for.
However, the actual purpose of such a large, elaborate, heavy and detailed contraption remains a mystery.
Surely it is not only designed to hold a pin cushion?
Being from the Victorian era, the object was likely in use before your time, however, if you know what the item is, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
The fastest readers to correctly identify the item and send in the answer will have their names published below next week’s What Is It?
