This decorative cast-iron object is from Archive Antiques in New Town. The four-footed Victorian era stand has something in common with last week’s item. The pin cushion and thread in the flower shaped section at the top of the stand is a significant clue to the activity the item was used for.

Being from the Victorian era, the object was likely in use before your time, however, if you know what the item is, send an email to tassieliving@news.com.au

The fastest readers to correctly identify the item and send in the answer will have their names published below next week’s What Is It?
