Winter spinach

Sunday Tasmanian - Tassie Living - - GARDENING -

Winter spinach seed has a single, blunt prickle sticking out from one side. Summer spinach has round seeds. English spinach such as Bloomsdale is resistant to the heaviest frosts. It’s a perfect time to directly-sow a crop now. Don’t waste money buying punneted seedlings – they detest disturbance, causing plants to bolt uselessly to seed.
