Bank heist charges laid
DETECTIVES have charged a man with the armed robbery of a Launceston bank on Friday.
Police arrested the man in the Launceston suburb of Waverley about 4am yesterday, after the Mowbray branch of the ANZ Bank was allegedly held up on Friday afternoon.
The man, 29, of no fixed address, was charged with armed robbery, resisting police, possessing a controlled drug and contravening bail conditions, and appeared at an out-of-hours court session yesterday.
