Elton ready to rocket into town
MUSIC legend Sir Elton John will perform in Wollongong tonight, before his Once In A Lifetime national tour brings him to Hobart this week for the first time in nearly 30 years.
One of the most acclaimed and highest-selling artists in history, Sir Elton has sold more than 250 million albums. He has released 57 top-40 hit singles in the US — second only to Elvis Presley — including classics such as Candle in the Wind, Your Song, Rocket Man, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me, Daniel, I’m Still Standing and Crocodile Rock.
Sir Elton performed in Launceston in 2007 and again in 2012, but has not appeared in the state’s South since he played two concerts at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in February 1990.
Performing iconic hits from throughout his long career, Sir Elton John and his band play at the DEC from 7.30pm this Wednesday and Thursday.
Tickets start at $99, go to www.ticketmaster.com.au for bookings.
