Movie props net $7.8m

AN auc­tion of more than 2000 pieces of film mem­o­ra­bilia in­clud­ing props from Star Wars and Ter­mi­na­tor films has earned more than $A7.8 mil­lion.

Auc­tion house Pro­files in His­tory said a Har­ley-David­son rid­den by Arnold Sch­warzeneg­ger in Ter­mi­na­tor 2: Judg­ment Day sold for $631,000, while a Death Star prop used in Re­turn of the Jedi sold for $315,000.

Other items that sold in the Icons and Leg­ends of Hol­ly­wood auc­tion in­cluded a prac­tice char­iot used dur­ing film­ing of Ben Hur ($189,000) and a space­suit worn by Sigour­ney Weaver in Alien ($ 252,000).
