Premier to set agenda

Sunday Tasmanian - - NEWS - EMILY BAKER

RENEWABLE energy, international trade growth and increased tourist numbers will form the focus of Premier Will Hodgman’s speech to Tasmanian Liberals today.

Mr Hodgman will underline his Government’s successes over the past four years but will acknowledge the work ahead in strengthening Tasmania’s economy.

A preview of the Premier’s talking points ahead of his address to the party faithful at the Liberal State Council suggest he will celebrate Prime Minis- ter Scott Morrison’s interest in the state’s proposed battery of the nation project, noting his federal counterpart’s endorsement of the potential of pumped hydro developments on Friday.

Further “aggressive promotion” of Tasmanian products in key international markets will be foreshadowed.

The Premier will also recommit to the Government’s 10-year Infrastructure Pipeline proposal — an ambitious plan involving 247 projects — as well as pursuing the first phase of the Government’s secondterm agenda.
