Man hurt in clash

A MAN has allegedly been struck with the blunt side of an axe in an incident at Alice Springs.

The alleged offender, a man, 38, and another man, 44, were involved in a disturbanc­e at a residence in Little Sister Camp at around 2.15am yesterday.

Police said a man, 36, intervened and was allegedly struck on the head with the blunt side of a small axe.

The man was taken to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.

A man was arrested a short time later.

The man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, being armed with an offensive weapon and resisting police.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court on October 28.
