“We’re loving the supersized area this year, and we’re really happy with how it’s all flowing,” she said.

“It’s hard to know if we’re working harder than last year or if we’re busier because the stalls are bigger, but it definitely doesn’t feel like less peo- ple. Last year we did about 1600 sausages for the weekend and we’re working towards 1800 this time around.”

But it wasn’t just the stall holders who were happy.

Local foodies could be heard wandering around with the common exclamatio­n being “wow, this is way better than last year”.

“Last year it was a bit more hand-in-your-pocket, b but t this year there is a lot more tasting which, given it’s a tasting event, makes it a lot better,” one local said.

By 2pm yesterday more than 3000 people had come through the doors, with the organisers expecting higher numbers today.
