Robber busted by off-duty officer
A HIGH ranking copper interrupted a criminal’s not-soquiet robbery after he heard a glass door smash in Coconut Grove.
Craig Lee Williams, 35, was found hiding in an old car atop a flat bed truck with a bloody hand and five sets of stolen car keys belonging to Country Solar NT in his pocket after Superintendent James O’Brien called in backup, including the dog squad. Williams also cut himself when he broke in and stole $3300, a set of chef’s knives and two lap tops from Gourmet House, in Berrimah. He left blood on a shower curtain. He was so drunk he didn’t remember either incident but has pleaded guilty to unlawful entry, stealing and property damage.
