Rob­ber busted by off-duty of­fi­cer

A HIGH rank­ing cop­per in­ter­rupted a crim­i­nal’s not-so­quiet rob­bery af­ter he heard a glass door smash in Co­conut Grove.

Craig Lee Wil­liams, 35, was found hiding in an old car atop a flat bed truck with a bloody hand and five sets of stolen car keys be­long­ing to Coun­try So­lar NT in his pocket af­ter Su­per­in­ten­dent James O’Brien called in backup, in­clud­ing the dog squad. Wil­liams also cut him­self when he broke in and stole $3300, a set of chef’s knives and two lap tops from Gourmet House, in Ber­rimah. He left blood on a shower cur­tain. He was so drunk he didn’t re­mem­ber ei­ther in­ci­dent but has pleaded guilty to un­law­ful en­try, steal­ing and prop­erty dam­age.
