Academy a big hit with all involved
THE conclusion of the termtwo Basketball NT Academy received good reviews from coaches and officials alike, as 47 youngsters improved on their skills.
Twenty-five boys and 18 girls focused on team play during the eight weeks of the clinic.
“The clinic is a really important part of the kids’ overall development, as well as the coaches,” Basketball NT CEO Kristie Middleton said.
“It can allow those players who participate the chance to take the next step into our High Performance Program.”
Basketball NT Academy leader for Darwin, Dan Saivan, ran his eye over the students, with the term-three sessions to start in August.
Telstra area general manager, Nic Danks, said his organisation was thrilled to support Basketball NT’s development program.
“It’s just one way we work with the community to get kids to be active, and have more opportunities to play the sport they love,” he said.
