More than fashion parade
Lioness Club fundraises to support community groups
FASHION won’t be the only thing on show on October 6; so will the generosity of the Lioness Club of Caloundra. For more than 30 years the group has been tirelessly giving back to the community.
Publicity officer Wendy Jensen said this year’s annual fashion parade would fundraise for the Metropolitan Caloundra Surf Life Saving Club. “We chose them because a lot of of our members have grandchildren who are in it,” Wendy said.
“We want to give them the money so they can get some equipment.”
Wendy said the group does one major fundraiser a year to help fundraise for groups in the community. The format for this year’s event will be finger food with some jokes and short stories to kick the day off then the fashion parade.
“A great parade of fashions from Let Loose,” Wendy said.
The Lioness Club of Caloundra has 21 members with many working to put this event together.
“We are looking forward to it, the girls have been working on it for a few weeks now, and as it gets closer people are getting excited,” Wendy said.
More than 65 tickets have been sold with a capacity for 100. The event will be held at CCSA Hall, Nutley Street, Caloundra from 11am, and tickets can be pre-purchased or on the day. For information contact Lyn Webber on 0407 156 682.
